At the beginning of the pandemic, while unable to tattoo, I wrote, illustrated and self published my first children’s book. It was a colourful, rhyming ABC book and it was so rewarding to see it come together, I made another. This time, about consent, boundaries and platonic love. I hope to make more in the future.
This book follows Quinn the squirrel on their quest to prove their love to Rowan the mouse. Rowan doesn't feel the same way, and while going to their friends for advice on how to change Rowan's mind, Quinn understands that "no means no". They decide to use the love they have to give with their friendships instead.
This book makes ideas about consent, boundaries and platonic love accessible to children. The two main characters have they/them pronouns and are not gendered.
