Marlee is a Toronto based multidisciplinary artist.

While studying illustration and printmaking at OCAD University, I was taught how to tattoo and did so part time. In the few years following graduating, I had the pleasure of working and collaborating with lovely and trusting clients from my private home studio, as well as guest spots in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.

I aim to make my studio space as inclusive, body positive, intersectional and safe as possible.

When I’m not tattooing or making art in general, you can find me playing guitar, coming up with puns or sitting in the sunshine.

Work and process:

My work explores interconnectedness and play through the construction of whimsical characters and environments. I have a deep admiration for the weird and sincere. I love the collaborative aspect of working with clients to make their ideas realized.

Sometimes I draw inspiration from songs I’ve written, art I’ve seen, or people I come in contact with - which turn into drawings which turn into tattoos. Or maybe a tattoo will inspire a print, or vice-versa. I feel lucky to be able to access different mediums that can lend themselves to one another and keep the process interesting.
